Come and go

Lots of people make the simple mistake of mixing up come and go.

Think of come as a movement towards the speaker
Present tense

•  You need to come home. -  This implies the speaker is at home
•  You need to go home-  The speaker is not at home

Past tense - use came and went

• She went home
• I came home last night-  speaker is at home right now
